After the usual mid-season break, the MotoGP championship now returns with the second half of the season, which starts this weekend in Brno, only to finish in the second half of November with the Valencia Grand Prix. .

The Czech Republic will be the venue for the tenth round of 2019 and the rider Miguel Oliveira is ready to take his KTM RC16 back into control and take the Austrian manufacturer to new heights.

“After my crash at Sachsenring, we ended the first part of the season with a bittersweet taste, because in the end the last GP was one of our best races. In this second half of the season we want to maintain the same level of consistency and speed that we have shown in Germany. Our goal is to make the second half even better and get a good result in Brno now. I really like this circuit and the team has a lot of information about the tests that have already been done here, so we have a positive point in our favor to start strong since Friday. ” Miguel Oliveira

The Portuguese rider is currently in the eighteenth position of the championship with a total of fifteen points, just one point behind from Johann Zarco of KTM Factory Racing.

Miguel Oliveira returns to the track tomorrow, Friday, at 8:55 am (Portugal time), with the first free practice session of the MotoGP category.

After a weekend in which Miguel Oliveira visibly improved his times and distances for the front riders, the Portuguese rider suffered a fall in the initial laps of the race in the Circuit of Sachsenring and ended up finishing it in the eighteenth position .

The Red Bull KTM Tech3 rookie started the day with na amazing Warm-Up session, finishing in the eighth place, 1.123 seconds from session leader – Marc Marquez.

Miguel Oliveira started the race with a good start, recovering immediately 3 positions. The Portuguese rider suffered a crash in Turn 3 just in the first few laps, eventually becoming totally isolated from the rest of the squad in eighteenth position. The Almada rider still returned to the race and joined the Top5 of the fastest riders several times, yet the high distance to the other riders did not allow him to recover positions.

"It was a race with a somewhat inglorious ending, after having made a good start and have regained some positions. I made a mistake on turn 3, the front of the bike ran away and I ended up falling. The bike continued to work, so I picked it up and continued the race with some damage mainly on the front wing on the right side. It was difficult to run without a wing, because it caused a lot of instability. It would not allow me to go straight on the straight, nor to brake right. However, the important thing was to get on the bike and continue the race because I showed a great pace and we had a great potential to finish in the Top 10. We had lap times faster than the best KTM and even faster times than the group that struggled for 4th place. Despite the end, I'm very happy with the weekend. These were important days when we learned a lot and are optimistic for what follows. Now we have a summer stop to recover energies and I am sure we will return in Brno, Czech Republic, stronger and closer to what our goal is." Miguel Oliveira

After a qualifying day marked by two very positive practice sessions for the Portuguese rider, Miguel Oliveira faced a difficult qualification, taking tenth position in Q1.

The Red Bull KTM Tech3 rookie will start tomorrow from the twentieth position, aiming to reach more advantageous positions for the championship.

In its ninth grand prize in the premier class of the World Motorcycle Championship, the day began on the Sachsenring Circuit, with the third free practice session in which Miguel Oliveira was in 15th place, just 1.028 seconds from the first of the session – Marc Marquez. In the fourth and last free practice session, the Portuguese rookie made his best time in the minute 1'22.216, reaching again the fifteenth position.

Miguel Oliveira substantially improved his times and consequent distances for the front riders during FP3 and FP4, being consecutively the second best KTM on track. In qualifying, the Almada rider did not achieve the intended result, but claims to have a good pace for tomorrow's race.

"After FP3 and FP4, where I had a great racing pace, I was sincerely waiting for more for the qualification. My two tires in my two qualifying runs did not have as much grip as during the morning, so it was difficult to do at least equal. At the end of the FP3 I also ended up being followed by 3 riders who passed me on the times table, doing their laps behind me. I did not have any information from the team that I was being followed and therefore there was also some lack of communication. We got a bit behind on the grid, more than what we were capable of doing today. We know that Sachsenring is a circuit where it is difficult to overtake, but we will make a good start and recover as many positions as possible, because we know we have a great pace and we also managed to recover a lot of time during the race." The German Grand Prix started today with the start of the first two practice sessions. Miguel Oliveira finished this Friday with less than 1 second of the second place of the day, Alex Rins.

The Portuguese rider has already said he wants to continue the good results and believes that his team can be competitive in this circuit.

Miguel Oliveira finished nineteenth in FP1 and eighteenth in FP2. The Red Bull KTM Tech3 rookie made his best lap in minute 1:22.762, during the first practice session, 1.372 seconds from the first place in the session – Fabio Quartararo. Already in the second session of free practice, the Almada rider reduced his best time in almost 1 second, when he rolled in minute 1:21.899.

"This Friday was very productive. In the afternoon, we worked most of the time with race settings and race tires. It took us a bit to figure out how to readjust the bike for the race, but we believe we are well on the way to setting the bike. We managed to do a final run with improvements over time and that was quite positive so we will keep on this line, even though the position is not the one we expected. We are only 3 tenths of the Top 10 and therefore we still have some work ahead to improve the time in Sachsenring." Miguel Oliveira

The qualifications of the ninth championship race will take place tomorrow, Saturday, with Miguel Oliveira's first practice starting at 08:55 in Portugal. MotoGP qualifications are due by 13:10.

After a weekend in which the Red Bull KTM Tech3 team received a new carbon-swing arm from the KTM Factory Racing Team, Miguel Oliveira scores again and finishes the Dutch Grand Prix in 13th place.

The Portuguese rider started the day in seventeenth position, finishing the Warm-Up 1.443 seconds from the leader of the session – Maverick Viñales.

After suffering a 3 positions penalty on Saturday, the Almada rider started today from the 20th position, making a fantastic recovery, which allowed him to accumulate another 3 points for the championship. The TT Assen Circuit was the stage of a demanding race that was registered by some falls and dropouts. The Portuguese rider made a good start and kept his starting position for a couple of laps, starting from there a quick recovery to reach the points positions. Miguel Oliveira battled until the end of the race to reach as many points as possible, even surpassing the rider Francesco Bagnaia before crossing the finish line. The Portuguese rider thus achieves another 3 points, ranking in 17th place in this which was the eighth round of the MotoGP World Championship.

"Today we had a very contested race. Leaving the twentieth position did not help much and in the first few laps it was difficult to overtake. I continued to have a good pace throughout the race and managed to manage well the wear of the rear tire, which allowed me to have a strong finish. Too bad I could not get past the 12th position, but I ended up pretty close. I want to thank the whole team for all the work done this weekend and thank the KTM for making a great effort to provide us with a new part. The Portuguese rider, Miguel Oliveir,a will start tomorrow from the seventeenth position after a positive qualifying day with solid improvements obtained after the Red Bull KTM Tech3 team received new parts from the KTM Factory Racing.

In its eighth grand prix in the premier class of the World Motorcycle Championship, the day began in Assen with the third free practice session, in which Miguel Oliveira was in seventeenth position, 1.491 seconds from the first classified of the session – Fabio Quartararo. In the fourth and last free practice session, the Portuguese rookie had his best time of 1'34.465, finishing FP4 in 16th place.

Almada's rookie improved a lot this Saturday qualifying, managing to decrease his distance to the first classified consecutively. After finishing Q1 in seventh position, Miguel Oliveira will leave tomorrow from the sixth line of the starting grid.

"A positive qualification. The fourth free practice was positive too, with the race tires. We have taken a step forward, relative to the position, and that was our goal for today. It's a shame that in the last exit I did not manage to improve my time because I feel I had the potential to improve by a few tenths. I'm very confident for tomorrow. We are optimistic for tomorrow, now that we are closer to the points. We want to make a good start and manage our race well, because the last 10 laps will be complicated because of the grip. The seventh Grand Prix of the 2019 World Motorcycle Championship season was held yesterday at the Circuit of Barcelona.

Following the end of the seventh race of this season, the riders of the premier class and their  teams extended their stay in Catalunya to hold an official test session this Monday.

The Portuguese rider Miguel Oliveira and his team Red Bull KTM Tech3 took advantage of the day to continue the development and progression of the KTM RC16.

"Today was a very long day, with a lot of work. We re-tested things that we had previously tested under race conditions, but it is always harder to conclude whether the changes are good or not. We tested some new Michelin tires and also tested some of the KTM-recommended settings in order to be faster on the bike. We had a positive day, in which the team worked very calmly and it was possible to find small improvements that make us a little faster in certain aspects." Miguel Oliveira

In a total of 61 laps, the Portuguese rider made his best time in minute 1:40.862, 1.895 seconds from Maverick Viñales.

Miguel Oliveira is back in action on the weekend of 28, 29 and 30 of June at the Assen Grand Prix in the Netherlands.

After a weekend where the Red Bull KTM Tech3 team reduced the gap to the front riders, Miguel Oliveira returned to the points and scored again in the premier class, finishing 12th in the Catalunya Grand Prix.

The Portuguese rookie started the day in the 21st position, finishing the Warm-Up 1.294 seconds from the leader of the session – Fabio Quartararo.

The Circuit of Barcelona was the stage of an extremely troubled race, marked by several controversial falls and some abandonments. The Portuguese rider made a good start, but quickly saw the positions he recovered to escape his hands as he was involved in the fall that happened between Aleix Espargaro and Bradley Smith. The Almada's rookie was lost time with the incident, leaving him about 5 seconds behind the rest of the riders. Miguel Oliveira continued to battle to achieve his main goal and quickly reached the pilot Sylvain Guintoli, eventually overtaking the rider after struggling with him for a couple of laps. Also benefiting from some crashes and dropouts, the Portuguese rider returns to qualifying positions, adding another 4 points in the MotoGP World Championship.

"It was a pretty tough race. We knew it was going to be very difficult with these conditions and we managed to finish within the points, which was our main objective. I had already recovered many positions since the start, but I ended up involved in an incident on turn 10 on the first lap and to avoid two riders I had to extend the trajectory a lot. I recovered some time, without references and without anyone ahead. I finished the race within the points and I'm happy with the final result." Miguel Oliveira

Miguel Oliveira is now 17th in the standings with 12 points, just 4 points behind Red Bull KTM Factory Racing's Johann Zarco.
