After a qualifying day marked by two wet free practice sessions, Miguel Oliveira finished Q1 in sixth position.
Red Bull KTM Tech3 rookie will start tomorrow from the sixteenth position, aiming to earn more points in his first year in the premier class of MotoGP.
In its tenth Grand Prix at the World Motorcycle Championship, the day began in Brno with the third free practice, in which Miguel Oliveira was in ninth position, in a much slower session than Friday due to the mixed conditions of the track that were felt. Riding his best lap in the minute 2:06.345, the Portuguese rider was the second best KTM in the FP3, right after Pol Espargaro. In the fourth and last free practice session, the Portuguese rookie made his best lap in the 2:06.336 minute, finishing the same in seventeenth position.
The rainy weather did not allow the riders to improve their times, making this Saturday a more slower day than usual.
“Today we had a complicated day and qualification, always with mixed conditions. In Q1 I made the most of rain tires, but with the track very dry. It was a tight qualification and it became tricky to move to Q2. We ended up finishing 16th and tomorrow I believe we managed to finish much better than our starting position. I feel very good on dry conditions, so tomorrow will be a good race. Overall, today was a good day for KTM, occupying the first two front rows.” Miguel Oliveira
