Starting from this Friday on, September 23, begins an almost uninterrupted sequence of four weekends of MotoGP races outside Europe, namely in Japan, Thailand, Australia and Malaysia. Miguel Oliveira, as well as the rest of the MotoGP caravan, then heads to the East for the final sprint until the 20th and final round of the championship, in Valencia, Spain.

The first stage of this eastern round will take place in Japan, this weekend, between the 23rd and the 25th of September, at the Motegi circuit, which is characterized by its 4,800-meter perimeter, spread over 14 turns: six lefts and eight right.

In what will be the first 'out of hours' GP in this second half of the MotoGP calendar, Miguel Oliveira takes in his luggage another five points collected in Aragon, Spain, thus totalizing 95 points and 11th place, in the general classification of the championship.

It is recalled that since 2019 there have been no races in Motegi, Japan, due to the Covid-19 pandemic. That year, the rider from Charneca de Caparica was 12th on the Japanese circuit.

This Sunday's race is scheduled for 24 laps, totalizing a distance covered of 115.2 km and will take place at 07:00 am, mainland Portugal time.

Miguel Oliveira held today the 15th race of the MotoGP world championship, at MotorLand, in Aragon, Spain. After a generally troubled start by the peloton, the portuguese rider, who started from the 4th row of the grid, managed to settle in eighth position, where he rode for about nine crossings across the finish line. However, he ended the race in 11th place, after several battles on the asphalt in search of the highest sum of points to pass the checkered flag.

The day began with the usual warm-up session, in which Miguel Oliveira ran 11 laps, having had his best record of the session on the seventh pass, 20th on the timesheet, with 1m49s169.

Mentally confident for the race, the rider from Almada made a good start from 11th position on the starting grid, which corresponds to the fourth row, and managed to climb several positions right away until eighth, to fight with Johann Zarco for seventh position during nine laps. Despite the very troubled start of the race, with two major incidents on the first lap, Oliveira managed the moment in the best way and gained space to start his race towards the goal set the day before – fighting for a top-5 spot.

Disputed over 23 laps, totalizing about 120km of distance covered, Miguel Oliveira's race took place with his KTM RC16 mounted on hard and medium tires (front and rear) and was marked by the duels with Frenchman Zarco and the Italian Luca Marini and later with Alex Rins and Marco Bezzecchi, who pushed him to 11th place.

Miguel Oliveira ends the race with five more points in his portfolio, now totalizing 95 points, which keeps him in 11th position in the overall standings of the championship.

The entire MotoGP caravan is now heading to Motegi, in Japan, where the 16th round of the championship will take place between the 23rd and 25th of September.

Miguel Oliveira managed today the 11th best time in qualifying session 2, for which he was qualified early in the morning, right in FP3, when he set the seventh best mark of the session. He showed his surprising race pace in FP4, training that he led categorically from start to finish and, in the qualification session, managed to qualify to leave the fourth row, for what will be the 15th race of the season, which this end of week takes place in Aragon, Spain.

At the beginning of the morning, in what was the third free practice session of the weekend, very windy, Miguel Oliveira managed to improve his mark from the previous day, setting his best time in seventh position, at 1m47s224, just +0.232 that the best time of this session. The rider from Almada managed to run 18 laps, the 16th being his best ‘chrono’, when he already had medium-soft tires, front and rear, respectively – something that the previous day he had expressed wanting to continue experimenting with.

In FP4, the portuguese rider led the session absolutely, registering the best pace on the track and predicting an equally surprising race pace to take place tomorrow at MotorLand. 1m47s430 was the best mark recorded in this free practice session, where he ran 14 laps, a mark by Falcão from Charneca de Caparica, the fastest rider of this FP4.

Qualified directly for Q2, as he was part of the top-10 of the best combined times of the weekend, Oliveira bet on hard and soft tires (front and rear), a choice that allowed him to manage his passages through the finish line with the 11th best record, in 1m47s183. He will thus leave the fourth row of the starting grid, for this Sunday's race, with a time scheduled for 1p.m – mainland Portugal time.

The first of three days that make up the 15th round of the MotoGP world championship officially began today, Friday, this time at the Spanish track in Aragon, better known as MotorLand. Miguel Oliveira, who last week tested his RC16 at Misano, arrived in Spain with more certainty about the setup of his KTM and with the attitude that he will be able to fight for top positions, which will allow him to return to the top-10 of the general classification of the championship.

On a day dedicated to experimenting and choosing the best solutions for his KTM, the pilot from Almada signed the first morning free practice session with the 7th best record, in 1m49s005, just +0s319 from the best time in FP1. Over the course of the 45-minute session, Oliveira made 17 passes across the finish line, on medium-medium tyres, and visited the box twice. But it was on the 7th pass across the finish line that he performed his best 'chrono', at a speed of around 350km/h, thus closing FP1 in seventh place.

In the afternoon, the 27-year-old rider, although he integrated almost the entirety session the provisional top-10 for access to the Qualifying 2 session, closed the 15th best time in FP2 (combined times), running his lap more fast in 1m48s042, after another 17 passes through the finish line. Even so, he improved by about a second his best time recorded in FP1.

The rider from Charneca de Caparica remains confident for the sunny weekend in Aragon, a weekend that marks the return of Marc Marquéz to competition.

Tomorrow, Saturday, Miguel Oliveira will face the second day of the test to carry out the third and fourth free practice sessions, as well as qualifying, which will define his place on the starting grid for Sunday's race, which takes place at 1p.m., mainland Portugal time.

After San Marino's Grand Prix, in Italy, which took place on the first weekend of September, Miguel Oliveira, as well as the rest of the MotoGP caravan, remained at the circuit that honors the name of Marco Simoncelli, for two days of official tests on the track.

The Portuguese rider confessed that he was not given new materials to test on his KTM RC16, as from 2023 onwards he will embrace a new challenge on the tracks. The purpose of these official tests for Oliveira was to focus on the best setup for his bike until the end of this season, when there are still six races to go before the end of the season.

Having run a total of 113 laps: 86 on the first day of official testing and 27 on the second, Miguel Oliveira said he had, together with his team, worked on a better set-up to have more stability in the corners entry and throughout the trajectory up to the exit curves. Increases in traction and acceleration capacity were also analyzed by Red Bull KTM team, with a view to improving the bike's performance.

The Portuguese rider, especially on this second day, came to ride within the top 10 of riders with the best times, in a fantastic effort that demonstrates the resilience and determination of him.

Miguel Oliveira is now heading to MotorLand, in Aragon, Spain, for the 15th round of the MotoGP championship, with 90 points in his portfolio that give him 11th place in the overall standings of the championship.

Miguel Oliveira finished this Sunday in 11th position the race in San Marino, Italy, in what it was the 14th round of the MotoGP world championship. The Portuguese rider, during almost the entire race, has guaranteed his position within the top 10, but a 'long lap penalty', for having exceeded the track limits, sent him to 11th place after passing the checkered flag, through the finish line.

With no glimpse of rain, contrary to the weather forecasts, the race took place on dry ground, but that was not what prevented the many falls within the field, either when the red lights went out or throughout the race.

After a good start, in which he managed to stand out from the inside and gain a position, Miguel Oliveira started his climb to the top places: the fight with Alex Marquéz until the 9th lap made him lose some time, until he managed to overtake him and starts to dispute a place above with Jorge Martin. But, that's when fellow Red Bull KTM teammate Brad Binder appears and starts chasing the Portuguese for about 5 laps; manages to occupy the position of Miguel Oliveira, who holds on to 10th place, practically guaranteed. However, in the course of these battles, Oliveira twice exceeded the track limits and was forced to perform a long lap penalty, which compromised his 10th place. The rider from Charneca de Caparica passed the checkered flag in 11th position, at +23s685 from the winner of the race, the Italian Francesco Bagnaia, in a race that proved difficult to manage.

Despite having managed to collect 5 points at the end of this race, Miguel Oliveira dropped one place in the general classification of the championship, being now 11th, with 90 points.

Now, Miguel Oliveira will remain in Misano these days, for two test days this Wednesday and Thursday, 7th and 8th of September.

The next round of the championship will take place at Motorland, in Aragon, Spain, on the 16th, 17th and 18th of September, with just 5 races to go before the end of the season.

Miguel Oliveira managed this Saturday to qualify in 10th place to start from the 4th row of the starting grid for this Sunday's race, taking place at the San Marino circuit, in Italy, in what will be the 14th race of the MotoGP. The Portuguese rider managed to qualify directly to Q2, after in the third free practice session of the weekend, even after another non-serious fall, he managed to stay within the top 10 of the combined time table. In Q2 he then managed to close the 10th best time, at 1:32.775, which will allow him to start from that same mark, as soon as the red lights go out, at 13:00 on Sunday.

The first practices in the morning, corresponding to FP3, contrary to the weather forecasts, gave all the riders a dry floor. Miguel Oliveira took to the track with hard and soft tires, front and back respectively, ready to attack again, knowing that the previous day's crash would have limited his work progress. Lap after lap, he managed to reduce his personal mark, having set the 7th best time of the session, with 1m31s955. But, a new fall of the rider from Almada, when he 'fled' the front of his bike, two minutes from the end of the session, almost cost him his place in the much-desired top 10 of qualifying for Q2. Two drivers had their laps canceled at the end of the session, which reinforced Oliveira's direct access to the second timed session.

In FP4, with the usual duration of 30 minutes, the pilot from Almada managed to run 15 laps on the track that honors the name of Marco Simoncelli. He did his best lap in 1m32s914, which put him in 13th position at the end of the session.

For Q2, the rain flag was showed from the start, but the fierce Miguel Oliveira was one of the few riders who took to the track with slick tires – a strategic move by the experienced Almaden rider. Building on that advantage, Oliveira showed his 'time attack' lap after lap, leading the top places in qualifying for most of the session. With several sectors in orange and even red, the rider from Almada was doing his best, but in the meantime, several riders were being called to their respective 'boxes' to get on their bikes prepared for dry ground. He closed his best record in 10th position, with 1m32s775, which will allow him to start tomorrow from the 4th row of the starting grid for tomorrow's race.

This Sunday, the race that will have 27 laps is scheduled for 13:00, mainland Portugal time.

This Friday the 14th round of the MotoGP championship began, this time at the Italian circuit of San Marino. The peloton held the first free practice session (FP1) on dry ground, although with about 70% humidity, and these same conditions happened in FP2, although with the sun peeking out. Miguel Oliveira managed to set his best mark of the day in 1m33s636, a mark that results from the combined times of both sessions, which placed him in 12th position this Friday.

Medium tires, front and rear, were Miguel Oliveira’s choice during the 45 minutes of FP1, a session in which he managed to run 21 laps, despite having twice left for the RedBull KTM ‘box’. Having reached practically over 300 km/hour, it was on the 8th lap that the Almadense got his best time of the session – 1:33.636 -, which put him in 18th place, +1.323 than the best time of the first practice of the day.

In FP2, Oliveira made a huge leap in the timesheets, having been part of the provisional top 10 for tomorrow, for a good part of the session, but a non-serious crash at turn 10 ended up preventing Miguel Oliveira from securing himself inside. of the top 10 best brands of the day. The one considered by the paddock to be one of the most highly gifted riders closed the combined timesheet in 12th place.

Tomorrow, work begins with the third free practice session of the weekend at 08:55, followed a little later by the fourth practice session, as well as the qualifying sessions. The race on Sunday is at 1:00 pm Mainland Portugal time.

It is already between this Friday and Sunday, 2nd to 4th of September, that the 14th event of the MotoGP World Championship takes place, in San Marino, Italy – one of Miguel Oliveira's favorite tracks. Miguel Oliveira, after finishing 12th at the Austrian Grand Prix and before the San Marino Grand Prix, the next Sunday, September 4th, has been present on Friday, August 26th, at Festas de Corroios for an autograph session, an event that ended up exceeding the expectations of the event organization.

The autograph session was supposed to last an hour, but Oliveira ended up staying three hours in the venue, as a result of the high number of admirers of the first Portuguese rider to race in the main premier class of motorcycling. Some even arrived at the place 1h30 in advance of the announced time.

Always in a good mood and affectionate with those present, the rider from Charneca de Caparica received a “bath of affection” from his fans, with many asking about his future and which team the pilot from Almada will represent next year, one of the mysteries of the MotoGP paddock.

Always smiling, Miguel Oliveira revealed that his future will be revealed soon, but the truth is that more than information, what fans and admirers wanted was an autograph and a photo with Oliveira, which received a real boost for the 14th race of the season, the San Marino Grand Prix, next weekend, between the 2nd and 4th of September.
