The Almada rider took the opportunity to fine-tune his bike's settings on a day of testing at the Misano circuit in San Marino, where he will be competing in two weeks' time.
In Monday's test program, Miguel Oliveira came 17th, with a time of 1.31.973 seconds over 76 laps, but the day, more than the lap time, was about testing the bike's electronics and geometry.
“We didn't spend our time doing a fast lap. The test was very much focused on maximizing the settings. It was ideas about the geometry of the bike, about trying to put the weight in different places at different moments of the corner. We also experimented with some electronics, related to the engine brake, which has given us some inconsistencies here. It's not going to make all the difference, but it will help,” explained the Almada rider at the end of the test program.
Miguel Oliveira, who took 11th place in the San Marino Grand Prix at the Misano circuit on Sunday, also explained that the day of testing “gave us some conclusions” and allowed to have “an idea of the direction to take” for the next Emilia-Romagna Grand Prix, which will be held in two weeks' time at the same circuit.
The Almada rider is 13th in the overall MotoGP standings, with 65 points.
