After the summer stop, the Red Bull Ring will host the second consecutive Grand Prix in as many weekends, just a few days after the Czech GP. Miguel Oliveira, who had very positive results at Brno including a podium, comes to Austria hoping to continue taking steps forward during the second half of the season and with a first victory in his crosshairs. In addition, it will be a very special round for the team, as the first 'home GP’ in Moto2 for Red Bull and KTM.
Oliveira took a podium at Brno last weekend, with a third place in a wet race and being among the fastest riders during every practice session – under all kinds of conditions. In Austria he will try to again be in the fight for a sixth podium of the season, at a Red Bull Ring where he finished 14th last year.
The portuguese rider will try to get a first podium for KTM at the Red Bull Ring in Moto2 this weekend, in a race that will take place on Sunday at 11:20pm, Lisbon time.
#44 Miguel Oliveira
“We arrive in Austria in very good shape and able to fight for the podium again. The goal is to start the weekend strong and finish it even better. We are looking for the win, but the work has been very consistent at every race and I am very happy with how things are going so far. We know that it is a special GP for Red Bull and for KTM, although we will try to approach it as a normal weekend, as if it is not here that we win, we will have other opportunities to do so later on. Everything will be very close at the Red Bull Ring, but by doing our job we can be among the best riders”.
